Minutes of October meeting

Lincoln Artists’ Guild
General Meeting
October 8, 2024
The Lincoln Artists’ Guild monthly meeting was opened by the president, Carmen Stineman. She announced that more help is needed for the Taylor Wilson fundraiser scheduled for Friday and Saturday, November 15 and 16.
Equipment needs to be loaded and transported from the storage site on north 48th Street to the church site on Wednesday at 10:30 am, November 13th. Wire is to be set up for pictures and tables available for cards and ornaments, etc. All items for sale by members must be clearly labeled with price and name as well as any other pertinent information. Set up to begin Thursday, November 14th with 5-10 people to assist. Carmen will be sending out additional information in the newsletter for the fundraiser.
Lisa Strilkivsky is planning to do LAG’s online web page.
There were 26 pictures at Gallery 9 for LAG’s Fall Show. Winners were announced. The show was well received and attended. Critiques from the judge will be available. The show will be available until October 27th. This would be a good place for future shows by LAG, if available. Jan Garvin is now the program chair for Gallery 9.

Mark Mesloh updated us on the “Painted Tree” located in the old Bed, Bath and Beyond building at South Point. He and his wife have rented space for 1 year and believes it’s a good option to consider for a place to sell our artwork. Sales are tended by the store.

Jan Garvin has paid for space for the Unitarian Art & Craft show. She has offered this space to anyone interested since she is unable to attend.
LAG’s November meeting for a mixed media program in collage has been moved to November 7th. Early arrival is encouraged as it will be a full evening.
Pam Apley reminded members about the Art Walk in Nebraska City on Saturday, October 19th from 10 am to 4 pm.
Nominations for all LAG officer positions are being sought and due by the end of December.  Voting will take place in January 2025 at our annual New Years Party.

Sincerely,

Donna Justsen
Secretary
